Mindful Moments
When I discovered mindfulness, it felt like I’ve had an all access pass to peace my whole life that’s just been sitting in my pocket while I’ve been keeping myself locked in a room. Once I began using the pass, I entered a world that’s always been there but I never saw before. Actually, I never saw, smelled, tasted, felt, or heard before. Mindfulness makes the world magical.
I experience magic all the time now. The birds flying across a blue sky, their song calling to each other across bare tree branches, a glimpse of movement, of color, a sweet song, a flight. It’s magic.
I hold an orange in my hands and notice it’s coolness, it’s color, it’s texture. It came to me, from far away, transported after years of care, on a farm that took generations to come to fruition, that needed the sun, rain, the whole Earth’s support to grow so it could come to me. So why wouldn’t I listen as I peel it’s skin, smell the fragrance as its released, and savor the sweet taste in complete gratitude?
It’s all the magic of mindfulness. Want to experience it? Take a breath, friend, and begin.
