Amanda was drawn to yoga through a quest for inner peace. She attributes the practice of yoga and mindfulness to her personal sense of being grounded, a way to connect to her inner strength, and calm. While humanity still makes these attributes a life long quest, it is the practice of mindfulness that always brings her back to the Source of peace.
She began teaching children in 2013, as the discovery of yoga and mindfulness made her wish she had learned these skills earlier in life. Now, sharing these practices with the youth is her passion. Recently, she has been working one on one with teenagers and enjoying it immensely. Her children yoga trainings and certifications include ChildLight Yoga, Cosmic Kids Yoga, Global Family Yoga, Yoga Child, and Trauma Sensitive Training for Young People.
Teaching the adults that serve and support the youth is just as important. As a mom of two, she fully believes in the power of mindfulness for both her and her children. We grown-ups are the examples our children look to, whether we are parents, neighbors, teachers, or community members. Leading adult classes is a joy for Amanda, her focus being mindfulness and self-discovery. Her trainings and certifications include Community Based Yoga and Trauma Sensitivity, 200hr with The Center Yoga and Wellness, The Inner Journey Program, and 300hr with Create Karma and Zia Yoga and Wellness, Trauma-Sensitive Yoga for Recovery and Mental Health, Prison Yoga Project, and more.
Amanda has been registered with the Yoga Alliance as a RYT 500 (Registered Yoga Teacher 500hrs) and RCYT (Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher). She maintains current clearances and insurance.
Amanda’s intention with all her classes is to expose students to the benefits of mindfulness and yoga, which include complete wellbeing of mind, body, and spirit.
In addition, Amanda is a children’s author. She has been writing children’s stories to tell in her story time yoga classes for several years, and in 2019 she self-published her first book Satya. Creating stories within her classes allows Amanda to be creative and share messages with even the youngest children in a way that captures their attention and brings smiles to everyone’s faces.
Amanda hopes that you will allow yoga and mindfulness to become part of your experience. There are many teachers, and many ways to practice, keep seeking and she is sure you will find what delights your soul.
